1000 Acts of Kindness PSA 2011
September 22, 2011
rtraction is proud to be supporting LUSO’s 1000 Acts of Kindness again this year. We’ve been involved in the Challenge since it began in 2009 and we’re excited to continue supporting this important initiative well into the future.
LUSO’s 1000 Acts of Kindness is an important event for London. Every October, LUSO encourages citizens to eliminate hate and bias from our community by performing acts of kindness. In 2009 and 2010 there were over 100,000 acts performed around London and then recorded on the website. Getting involved is simple: just visit the website and register, go out and perform acts of kindness, submit those acts on the site, and then share them with the world!
Since 2009, we’ve been involved in the challenge in several ways including donating the website, developing a social media strategy and performing acts of kindness as a team.
This year, we are particularly excited to be doing the following: redesigning the website, making a spiffy PSA and creating a unique ad to be launched at the Junior Achievement London Business Hall of Fame Induction Gala Dinner.
Here’s a sneak peak at the new website design that will be launched in a couple of weeks!
Creating the PSA has been a really fun experience for all of us and something we’ve never done before. The whole team got involved to recreate several of the acts of kindness we’ve performed since 2009. You can see the final product below and be sure to look out for it on Rogers throughout the month of October.
I have a challenge for you too! Can you find the character who doesn’t belong in the video? Leave your best guess in the comments below.

The whole team would like to send a big thank you to the following people for helping make this video possible:
- Scott (thecrow65) for letting us use the awesome Star Wars coffee logos he designed.
- Kevin Van Lierop for the lighting equipment
- Our in-house crew: Noah’s voiceover, Jeremy’s mad post skills, and Shawn’s direction.

Stay tuned to hear about the unique ad we’re doing for the Junior Achievement Dinner, I’ll be writing about it in the next few weeks.
NOTE from the “management”: The author of this blog, Shannon, was instrumental in making this a successful endeavour. Thank you Shannon for all your creativity and hard work in bringing this idea to life – David, Josh and Shawn
