Top Books That Shaped rTraction

A pile of business books in dappled sunlight on a soft couch with an indoor plant in the background

In honour of World Book Day, we looked at books that have changed the way rTraction thinks about business.

David's Pick
Traction by Gino Wickman

This book found rTraction when we were going through a massive shift. It changed the way we thought about our process, running a company efficiently, capturing our team's ideas, and keeping them from every level of the organization.

Measure What Matters by John Doerr

This book does a great job of providing a process and a language for talking to one another so that you can celebrate the differences in how people approach problems and use them as a benefit. A dreamer without key results may lack accountability, and a key results-driven person may miss the why.

Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller

This isn't the only book about a story, but it is the one that changed how we talked to our clients and community about their brand stories. Clarifying your message and making marketing materials that work is key for our whole team when we are talking about our own brand AND when we are talking about our clients' brands.

Radical Candor by Kim Scott

Given our diverse communication styles, it took us a while to figure out the rhythm of how to talk to each other at work. To be successful, we sometimes need to give each other critical feedback, and reading this book allowed us to work toward a feedback framework where we Care Personally and Challenge Directly.
